How to Find All 3 Leeches

Finish the NPC dialogue first, search at ground level and reload the save if the quest pickups fail to appear.

Quick answer: On Island 2, finish the woman's dialogue from start to end, then look for three small Leech pickups on the ground around the quest area. Return all three and keep the modified Leech she gives back—it is the bait for the Giant Piranha. If no Leeches appear, reload the latest save after completing the dialogue.

Where the Leeches are

The Leeches are quest pickups, not normal fish and not boss drops. Keep the camera angled down and walk the usable ground around the quest NPC instead of repeatedly casting into the water.

  1. Talk to the Island 2 woman until the full conversation is complete.
  2. Watch the quest counter and confirm it asks for three Leeches.
  3. Search slowly around the nearby ground, vegetation edges and paths.
  4. Pick up each small object and confirm the counter advances.
  5. Return to the woman only after the counter reaches 3/3.

Leeches not spawning fix

Players have reported a launch-week state where the pickups do not reappear after a failed boss attempt or incomplete dialogue. Use the least destructive recovery order below.

  1. Return to the NPC and complete every dialogue line.
  2. Search the ground once more with the camera lowered.
  3. If the counter still cannot progress, reload the latest save.
  4. After loading, speak to the NPC again before searching.
Do not restart the entire game firstA normal save reload is the community-reported recovery step. Back up or preserve the current save before trying anything more invasive.

What the quest unlocks

Returning the three Leeches gives you the modified bait used to start the Giant Piranha fight. Treat it as a progression item: do not discard it, sell it or use it on an unrelated cast.

Common mistakes

  • Fishing for Leeches instead of searching the ground.
  • Leaving the NPC dialogue before it finishes.
  • Looking only in the centre of the area and missing edges.
  • Assuming the quest needs five when the objective is 3/3.
  • Throwing away the modified Leech received after the hand-in.
