Information processed when you visit

Hosting and security logs

Our hosting provider may process standard request information needed to deliver and protect the site, such as your IP address, requested URL, date and time, browser or device information, referring page, response status and security signals. These records are used for delivery, reliability, abuse prevention and troubleshooting.

Optional Google Analytics

Google Analytics loads only after you select “Accept analytics” in our privacy choices dialog. When enabled, it may process information such as page views, approximate location derived from IP address, device and browser characteristics, referral information and interactions with the site. We configure analytics without advertising storage or ad-personalization consent and do not intentionally send names, email addresses or other directly identifying form data to Google.

If you decline optional cookies, the Google Analytics tag is not loaded by this site. Your choice is saved in browser local storage under howtofish_cookie_consent. You can reopen the dialog at any time with “Cookie choices” in the footer.

Cookies, local storage and advertising

Local storage is used to remember whether you accepted or declined optional analytics. If you accept analytics, Google may set or read first-party analytics cookies or use similar identifiers for measurement.

If Google AdSense is enabled in the future, Google and other third-party vendors may place or read cookies, use web beacons, IP addresses or other identifiers to serve, measure and protect advertising. Google may use advertising cookies to serve ads based on visits to this or other websites. You can manage personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings and learn how Google uses information from partner sites. Other participating vendors may provide opt-out choices through AboutAds.

Before serving personalized Google ads to visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the site will use a Google-certified consent management platform where required. The current privacy choices dialog controls optional analytics; it does not claim to replace every consent mechanism that may be required for future advertising.

Sharing and purposes

Technical information may be processed by service providers that help host, secure and measure the site, including our hosting provider and, only after consent, Google Analytics. We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, enforce security or protect the rights and safety of the site and its users.

Retention and your choices

Hosting and analytics providers apply their own retention and security practices. We aim to retain only what is reasonably needed for site operation, security and aggregate measurement. You can decline optional analytics, change your choice from the footer, block cookies in your browser or clear site data. Browser controls may also let you limit local storage and tracking protection.

Children

This site is a general-audience game guide and is not directed to children under 13. It does not provide accounts, comments or forms for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If the site’s audience or features change, we will reassess child-directed treatment and advertising settings before using personalized advertising.

International visitors and privacy rights

Privacy rights differ by location and may include access, correction, deletion, objection or restriction. Because the site does not operate user accounts or a contact form, we may have limited information that can be linked back to you. To raise a privacy question, follow the safe contact process below and do not post sensitive personal information publicly.

Contact and policy changes
