Story location order

What makes this island different

The Lighthouse is a tutorial economy, a melee lesson and a travel unlock in one compact area. The efficient route delays the Beer until the $3 rod can generate replacement cash, then converts the Empty Beer Can into the Spider Crab fight and Boat Keys.

Priority route

  1. Pick up and eat a clam so the hunger tutorial is complete, then feed spare clams to the Keeper for starting cash.
  2. Buy the basic fishing rod before optional equipment and use the free lure for repeatable early catches.
  3. Choose a melee upgrade—Brass Knuckles for the cheaper route or a Knife for a safer solo boss fight.
  4. Buy the $12 Beer, give it to the Keeper and preserve the Empty Beer Can he returns.
  5. Defeat Spider Crab, return its remains and verify the Boat Keys before buying the $10 Radar and sailing.

Lighthouse route

  1. Buy the Basic Fishing Rod and use the free lure.
  2. Earn enough for a useful melee upgrade.
  3. Give the Beer Can to the Lighthouse Keeper.
  4. Use the returned Empty Beer Can to summon Spider Crab.
  5. Return the boss quest item, buy the Radar and take the boat.

Money and upgrade decisions

The Lighthouse has the smallest income ceiling, so purchase order matters. The rod creates repeatable cash; the weapon protects the boss attempt; the Beer starts the quest; and the Radar is useful only after the Boat Keys exist. Buying the quest item first can leave a failed solo run with no comfortable way to recover.

Navigation and quest-item route

Use the Lighthouse and shoreline as orientation points. Before leaving, put the Radar on the boat and learn how newly unlocked contacts appear. The next meaningful destination is Forest Island, but the key proof is possession of the Boat Keys rather than simply seeing open water.

After the bossSpider Crab remains collected

When to do optional work

Collection fishing and extra melee sharpening can be done before departure, but neither should replace the Keeper hand-in. If the crab is difficult, one extra damage upgrade is more useful than farming every starting creature immediately.

Solo and co-op route differences

Solo

The solo route should spend a little more time on melee preparation. A Knife and full hunger make the charge-punish cycle much more forgiving than repeated bare-fist attempts.

Co-op

A group can divide the early cash work, but the quest owner should keep track of the Empty Beer Can and boss remains. Do not let a teammate carry the progression item away from the Keeper.

Common route mistakes

  • Giving away the Beer before buying the rod or weapon.
  • Fighting Spider Crab from long range and provoking repeated jumps.
  • Assuming the kill alone unlocks the boat.
  • Leaving without the Radar and then sailing without a clear contact.
If progression is stuckIf the Empty Beer Can is consumed in a failed attempt, use clams and ordinary fishing to buy another Beer. If the boat stays locked after a win, return the remains to the Keeper and finish every dialogue line.

Lighthouse FAQ

What should you buy first?

Buy the basic fishing rod first so you can earn more money, then prepare a melee weapon before spending on the Beer quest.

How do you unlock the boat?

Give the Beer to the Keeper, use the returned can to defeat Spider Crab, and hand the boss remains back to him.

Do you need the Radar?

It is the practical tool for locating newly unlocked islands after the Boat Keys open travel.
